    "Cingapura" or "Singapura"?

There will finally be only one spelling in Portuguese. To-date, all dictionaries accept both spelling. However, in accordance with the provision in the Portuguese Language Orthographic Agreement of 1990, which came into force only in 2009 and which will be binding on all Portuguese-speaking countries from 1 January 2016, the dual spelling will cease to be accepted. With effect from 1 January 2016, only one spelling will be correct in Portuguese: "Singapura"!
