Travel Advisory: Situation in Haiti

The Government of Haiti declared a nationwide state of emergency in Haiti on 4 September 2024 due to escalating gang violence. Armed robberies, kidnappings, and civil unrest remain frequent.
Singaporeans should defer non-essential travel to Haiti. Singaporeans in Haiti are advised to remain vigilant, monitor the local news closely, and heed the instructions of the authorities. They should avoid places where there are large crowds and take all necessary precautions for their personal safety, including purchasing comprehensive travel and medical insurance. Singaporeans are also encouraged to eRegister with MFA at https://eregister.mfa.gov.sg if they have not done so.
