In response to media queries on the conclusion of the cross-strait Economic Cooperation Framework Agreement (ECFA) on 29 June 2010, the MFA spokesperson said:

"Singapore welcomes the signing of the cross-strait Economic Cooperation Framework Agreement (ECFA) between Mainland China and Taiwan. The conclusion of the ECFA will further enhance economic cooperation between both sides and pave the way for the normalisation of the cross-strait economic relationship. It will also be helpful in promoting regional economic integration and the peaceful development of cross-strait relations."
