His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, Crown Prince of Brunei Darussalam and Chairman of Autoriti Monetari Brunei Darussalam, arrived in Singapore today for a four-day official visit at the invitation of Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of Monetary Authority of Singapore Tharman Shanmugaratnam.
His Royal Highness will be accompanied by Her Royal Highness Paduka Seri Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Sarah Salleh, His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Malik, Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Muda Abdul Qawi, and a delegation of Bruneian Ministers and senior officials.
During the visit, President Tony Tan Keng Yam and Mrs Mary Tan will host the Crown Prince and Her Royal Highness Princess Sarah to dinner, while Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and Mrs Lee will host Their Royal Highnesses to lunch. The Crown Prince will also meet Mr Lee Kuan Yew.
DPM Tharman will meet with the Crown Prince and host His Royal Highness and the delegation to lunch. Both sides will exchange views on monetary and regulatory policies, and reaffirm our strong bilateral cooperation which is also underscored by the Currency Interchangeability Agreement.
In addition, Minister for Defence Dr Ng Eng Hen will host the Crown Prince for a visit to Sembawang Air Base. The Crown Prince will also visit the Murai Urban Training Facility. Singapore and Brunei enjoy excellent defence ties and both armed forces engage in a wide range of bilateral exercises and professional exchanges.
The Crown Prince and his delegation will return to Brunei on 12 January 2012.
