Member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and Secretary of the CPC Central Committee Political and Legal Affairs Commission Meng Jianzhu will visit Singapore from 16 to 17 May 2016 to co-chair the 3rd Singapore-China Social Governance Forum with Deputy Prime Minister (DPM) and Coordinating Minister for National Security Teo Chee Hean. DPM Teo and Secretary Meng will deliver keynote addresses and officiate at the opening ceremony of the Forum which is themed “Governance in a Diverse Society”. The Social Governance Forum is one of the key bilateral cooperation platforms between Singapore and China.
During his visit, Secretary Meng will meet and be hosted to dinner by DPM Teo, who is Acting Prime Minister. Secretary Meng will also be hosted to a lunch by Minister for Law and Home Affairs K Shanmugam, and a dinner by Minister for Social and Family Development Tan Chuan-Jin. Secretary Meng will visit the Treelodge@Punggol and PSA Corporation Ltd. to learn more about Singapore’s urban planning and port facility management.
