The Government has appointed Mr Eric Teo Boon Hee as Singapore’s next Ambassador to the Republic of Korea. Mr Teo will assume post on 12 August 2019.
Mr Teo joined the Singapore Foreign Service in 1996. He has served in various capacities in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, covering Northeast Asia and ASEAN. From August 2014 to May 2019, Mr Teo was Director-General of the Northeast Asia Directorate. Prior to that, he was Deputy Trade Representative in the Singapore Trade Office in Taipei, followed by a posting to the Singapore Embassy in Beijing as Deputy Head of Mission. Mr Teo was First Secretary in the Singapore Embassy in Tokyo from 1999 to 2002.
Mr Teo graduated from the National University of Singapore with a Bachelor of Arts (Upper Honours) in 1996. In 2005, he obtained a Master Degree in International Public Policy from Johns Hopkins University, United States of America. In 2010, he graduated from an Executive Programme at the Peking University, People’s Republic of China.
Mr Teo is married to Mdm Kim Min Jae and they have a son and a daughter.
