Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Vivian Balakrishnan met Norwegian Minister for Foreign Affairs Anniken Huitfeldt today. They reaffirmed the excellent bilateral relationship and welcomed further collaboration between Singapore and Norway in research, innovation, entrepreneurship and educational exchanges. Both Ministers also discussed global and regional developments, including the situation in Ukraine and Myanmar.
Minister Balakrishnan was hosted to lunch by Ministry of Trade & Industry State Secretary Halvard Ingebrigtsen and Ministry of Foreign Affairs State Secretary Eivind Vad Petersson. At the lunch, Minister Balakrishnan engaged Norwegian business leaders from the maritime, telecommunication and shipping industries. They discussed opportunities for further business collaboration between Singapore and Norway.
Minister Balakrishnan departs Oslo today for Paris, to attend the Ministerial Forum on Cooperation in the Indo-Pacific.
