A delegation from the Türkiye-Singapore Parliamentary Friendship Group (TSPFG) visited Singapore from 16 to 19 January 2023 at the invitation of Senior Minister of State (SMS) (Foreign Affairs) (National Development) Ms Sim Ann.
Led by Chairman of the TSPFG Ms Nilgün Ök, the parliamentarians were hosted to lunch by SMS Sim Ann on 18 January 2023. During the lunch meeting, they reaffirmed the warm relations between Singapore and Türkiye, exchanged views on regional developments, and agreed to explore ways to enhance bilateral cooperation in various areas including air connectivity, by leveraging on both countries’ strategic locations as gateways to our respective regions.
The parliamentarians visited the Singapore Parliament on 19 January 2023, where they called on Speaker Tan Chuan-jin. They were also hosted to lunch by parliamentarians from the Singapore-Europe Regional Parliamentary Group, and toured the Parliament House.
The delegation attended site visits and briefings by the Municipal Services Office, Public Service Division, Urban Redevelopment Authority, and Public Utilities Board, and visited various cultural and religious sites in Singapore.
