Her Excellency Alexandra Hill Tinoco, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of El Salvador, is on a working visit to Singapore from 6 to 8 February 2023. This is her first visit to Singapore as Minister of Foreign Affairs.
Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Vivian Balakrishnan and Minister Alexandra Hill Tinoco officiated the opening of El Salvador’s resident Embassy in Singapore on 7 February 2023. They welcomed the strengthening of ties between El Salvador and Singapore, and the appointment of His Excellency Arturo Alfonso Acevedo Valencia as El Salvador’s Ambassador to Singapore.
During their meeting on 8 February 2023, the Ministers discussed ways to deepen bilateral ties in areas such as agri-trade, digital economy and finance, mutual sharing of best practices in governance, as well as enhancing people-to-people exchanges. Minister Dr Vivian Balakrishnan also welcomed El Salvador to leverage Singapore as a springboard to expand its engagement of Southeast Asia.
