Prime Minister of the Czech Republic Petr Fiala called on President Halimah Yacob and Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong at the Istana today. He also had a separate meeting with Speaker of Parliament Tan Chuan-Jin.
President Halimah and Prime Minister Fiala reaffirmed the warm and growing relations between Singapore and the Czech Republic, and noted the new and emerging areas where both sides could enhance cooperation, such as innovation and development in high-tech industries and cybersecurity. They also had a good discussion on developments in each other’s regions, and exchanged views on addressing the social challenges that both countries face.
The two Prime Ministers exchanged views on global and regional developments, including the evolving security architecture in our respective regions and the impact of climate change. They reaffirmed the importance of working together to support the principles of free trade, multilateralism, and a rules-based international order.
Prime Minister Fiala will depart Singapore later today.
