His Excellency Srettha Thavisin, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand, is on an Official Visit to Singapore on 12 October 2023, at the invitation of Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong. Prime Minister Srettha received a ceremonial welcome at the Istana this morning. Prime Minister Srettha called on President Tharman Shanmugaratnam and met Prime Minister Lee, who also hosted Prime Minister Srettha to an Official Lunch.
President Tharman and Prime Minister Srettha welcomed the strong and multifaceted relations between Singapore and Thailand, and the potential to deepen cooperation in areas such as renewable energy, the digital economy, fintech and combating cybercrimes. President reaffirmed Singapore’s desire to work together with Thailand for mutual benefit.
Prime Minister Lee and Prime Minister Srettha affirmed the strong and broad-based Singapore-Thailand partnership. They discussed ways to further enhance cooperation, especially in digital economy and renewable energy. Prime Minister Lee also thanked Prime Minister Srettha for Thailand's support for the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF)'s training in Thailand.
The two Prime Ministers also exchanged views on global and regional developments, and agreed on the need for close cooperation within ASEAN, especially on initiatives such as the Laos-Thailand-Malaysia-
