Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Vivian Balakrishnan co-chaired the 23rd ASEAN-European Union (EU) Ministerial Meeting (AEMM) with High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission (HR/VP) Josep Borrell on 1 December 2020 via videoconference. The Meeting welcomed expedited progress on the ASEAN-EU Comprehensive Air Transport Agreement and finalisation of the ASEAN-EU Free Trade Agreement. Both sides reiterated their commitment to “vaccine multilateralism” and support for the World Health Organisation to ensure fair, equitable, and affordable access to safe and effective vaccines.
