Hurricane Florence is forecast to be a major hurricane as it moves toward the Southeast US coast later this week. According to the US National Hurricane Center (NHC), there is an increasing risk of storm surges at the coast and freshwater flooding from prolonged heavy rainfall. In anticipation of Hurricane Florence’s arrival, the Governors of South Carolina, North Carolina and Virginia have declared a state of emergency.
Singaporeans in the path of Hurricane Florence are advised to take the necessary precautions for your personal safety, including heeding the instructions of the local authorities, and monitoring local news. Singaporeans are also encouraged to keep your family and friends updated on your welfare so that they know you are safe.
