Hurricane Michael was recently upgraded to a Category 3 storm with winds of around 120 mph. Hurricane Michael is forecast to make landfall over the Florida Panhandle as a major storm tomorrow afternoon. According to the US National Hurricane Center (NHC), hurricane force winds will extend inland across portions of the Florida Panhandle, southern Georgia and southeast Alabama as Hurricane Michael moves inland. Heavy rainfall could also produce flash flooding.
In anticipation of Hurricane Michael’s arrival, the Governors of Alabama, Florida and Georgia have declared a state of emergency and evacuation orders in several counties.
