Travel Notice: Situation in Peru
As of 19 March 2025, 157 districts in 20 regions in Peru remain under a state of emergency due to the danger and damage caused by heavy rains, landslides, and flooding.
On 16 March 2025, the Peru government declared a separate 30-day state of emergency in the capital, Lima, and the neighbouring Callao province due to rising crime and violence that have resulted in multiple deaths. The police and military are allowed to enter homes and effect arrest without warrants. Civil liberties, such as the right to assembly, may be suspended.
Singaporeans are advised to exercise a high degree of caution when visiting Peru, and to take all necessary precautions for their personal safety, including monitoring the local news and heeding the instructions of local authorities.
