The Singapore Consulate in Medan will cease operations on 31 July 2001. The Consulate will stop processing visa applications and other consular matters on 30 July 2001. Services provided, and all other responsibilities currently undertaken by the Singapore Consulate in Medan will be undertaken by the Singapore Consulate in Pekanbaru, Riau. The Consulate in Pekanbaru has been operational since 20 April 2001.
