MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS PRESS STATEMENT

OFFICIAL VISIT OF DPM LEE HSIEN LOONG TO
NEW ZEALAND, 23-28 NOVEMBER 2003

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Lee Hsien Loong and Mrs Lee will visit New Zealand from 23 to 28 November 2003, at the invitation of New Zealand Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance and Revenue Dr Michael Cullen.

While in New Zealand, DPM Lee will meet with New Zealand Acting Governor-General Dame Sian Ellias, Prime Minister Helen Clark, Dr Cullen, Leader of the Opposition Dr Don Brash, and various New Zealand Ministers. DPM Lee will deliver a keynote address at the "Seriously Asia" Forum on 25 November 2003. The Forum is organised by the Asia 2000 Foundation, of which DPM Lee is an Honorary Advisor.

DPM Lee will also meet members of the NZ business community and visit companies and institutes engaged in cutting-edge research and development in the fields of biotechnology, info-communications technology and the creative sector, to explore further areas of collaboration between Singapore and New Zealand.
