OFFICIAL VISIT OF RICARDO LAGOS
PRESIDENT, REPUBLIC OF CHILE
Mr Ricardo Lagos, President of the Republic of Chile, will visit Singapore from 29 April to 1 May 2004 at the invitation of Prime Minister Goh Chok Tong. This will be President Lagos' first official visit to Singapore as President.
President Lagos will be accompanied by Minister of Finance, Nicolas Eyzaguirre, senior government officials, businessmen and the press. President Lagos will call on President S. R. Nathan, Prime Minister Goh Chok Tong and Senior Minister Lee Kuan Yew on 30 April 2004. Following the call on Prime Minister Goh, President Lagos will lead the Chilean delegation in a meeting with the Singapore delegation led by Prime Minister Goh. President Lagos will be hosted to dinner by Prime Minister Goh that evening.
President Lagos will deliver the 24th Singapore Lecture "Global Challenges in the 21st Century" on 30 April 2004, organised by the Institute of Southeast Asian Studies (ISEAS). He will also visit the APEC Secretariat on 1 May 2004.
