INTRODUCTORY VISITS BY PRIME MINISTER LEE HSIEN LOONG
TO INDONESIA AND THAILAND
FROM 8-9 NOVEMBER AND 11-12 NOVEMBER 2004
Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong will visit Indonesia and Thailand from 8-9 November and 11-12 November 2004 respectively as part of his ongoing series of introductory visits to ASEAN capitals.
For the visit to Indonesia, Prime Minister Lee will be accompanied by Mrs Lee, Minister for Foreign Affairs George Yeo, Minister for Trade and Industry Lim Hng Kiang, and senior officials. Prime Minister Lee will have meetings with President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, Vice-President Jusuf Kalla, Speaker of the House of Representatives Agung Laksono, Speaker of the Regional Representatives Council Dr Ginandjar Kartasasmita and Speaker of the People's Consultative Assembly Dr Hidayat Nur Wahid. President Susilo will also host Prime Minister Lee and his delegation to an official dinner.
For the visit to Thailand, Prime Minister Lee will be accompanied by Mrs Lee, Minister for Defence RADM (NS) Teo Chee Hean, Acting Second Minister for Finance and Senior Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Raymond Lim, and senior officials. Prime Minister Lee will have a bilateral meeting with Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra, followed by a delegation meeting. Prime Minister Thaksin will host Prime Minister Lee and his delegation to an official lunch. Prime Minister Lee and Mrs Lee will travel to Hua Hin for an audience with His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej.
During Prime Minister Lee's visit, Defence Minister Teo will be signing a Memorandum of Understanding on mutual training and logistics support between the Republic of Singapore Air Force and the Royal Thai Air Force with Thai Defence Minister General (Retired) Sumpun Boonyanun.
