STATUS OF SINGAPOREANS IN AFFECTED AREAS
List updated as of 11 Jan 05 at 1730 hrs Note *Uncontactable - persons who were known to be in the general vicinity of the affected areas and whom families and MFA are unable to reach. **Missing - definite information that persons may have been swept away, or were known to be in an area that was badly devastated. The number of uncontactable persons has increased by five to 15. The police received information today that a family of five had left for Chennai, India for a holiday before the tsunami and had not returned to Singapore. We request relatives and friends of Singaporeans,who were known to have travelled to the disaster-stricken areas and uncontactable earlier but who have since been contacted, to call the 24-hour Singapore Contact Centre at Tel: 6332-0000, to give details of the whereabouts of such persons. |
