STATUS OF SINGAPOREANS IN AFFECTED AREAS
List updated as of 18 Jan 05 at 1700 hrs Note *Uncontactable - persons who were known to be in the general vicinity of the affected areas and whom families and MFA are unable to reach. **Missing - definite information that persons may have been swept away, or were known to be in an area that was badly devastated. The number of persons on the uncontactable list has been reduced by one to nine based on information received by the police that a Singaporean on the uncontactable list has returned to Singapore. The Singaporean had visited Indonesia before the tsunami but was not in the affected area. We continue to request relatives and friends of Singaporeans, who were known to have travelled to the disaster-stricken areas and uncontactable earlier but who have since been contacted, to call MFA at Tel: 6332-0000, to give details of the whereabouts of such persons. |
