The Government of the Republic of Singapore, with the agreement of the Government of the Republic of Portugal, has appointed Mr António Horta-Osório as Singapore's Honorary Consul in Lisbon, Portugal.
Mr Horta-Osório, 41, obtained his Master in Business Administration at INSEAD (The European Institute of Business Administration) in 1991. In 2003, he completed the Advanced Management Programme at Harvard University.
Mr Horta-Osório is currently the Chief Executive Officer of Banco Santander Totta in Portugal. He is also Director of Abbey National in the UK and an Executive Vice-President of Group Santander, the Spanish Banking Group that owns Abbey National and Banco Santander Totta. He is the Chairman of the Portuguese Council, INSEAD.
Mr Horta-Osório is married with three children.
