The Singapore Government will send US$100,000 worth of humanitarian relief supplies to Islamabad on 19 October 2005.
The consignment comprises blankets, tents, groundsheets, sleeping bags, sweaters, water purification tablets as well as medical supplies and pre-cooked food rations. These supplies are based on the Pakistan Government's assessment of its immediate needs.
The supplies will be received by a senior representative of the Pakistani Government. MINDEF is assisting in the carriage of the relief supplies.
The 44-member Disaster Assistance and Rescue Team (DART) from the Singapore Civil Defence Force is expected to complete its mission by end of today and will return later this week.
