MFA Press Statement: Official Visit of The Second Vice-President of Panama, His Excellency Ruben Arosemena Valdes (28 February - 2 March 2006)

The Second Vice-President of the Republic of Panama, His Excellency Ruben Arosemena Valdes, will make an official visit to Singapore from 28 February to 2 March 2006. Second Vice-President Arosemena will be accompanied by Minister of Education Mr Miguel A. Canizales, government officials and a business delegation.

Second Vice-President Arosemena and Deputy Prime Minister, Co-ordinating Minister for National Security and Minister for Law, Professor S. Jayakumar will witness the signing of the Panama-Singapore Free Trade Agreement by Minister of State for Trade and Industry and for Education Mr Chan Soo Sen and Vice Minister of Commerce and Industry Ms Carmen Gisela Vergara on 1 March 2006.

Second Vice-President Arosemena will call on Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong on 2 March 2006. He will also visit PSA and SembCorp Marine as part of the programme arranged for the business delegation.
