Your Highness,

I was saddened to hear of the sinking of the ferry off the coast of Bahrain yesterday, and the significant number of lives lost. Please accept my deepest condolences to you and the families of all the bereaved.

A small number of Singaporeans and Bahrainis were also on board the ferry, some of whom are still missing. I understand that the Bahraini authorities are exerting full efforts to locate those missing and conduct rescue operations. We appreciate these efforts and hope that they will succeed in saving more lives.

Yours sincerely,

His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Salman Al-Khalifa
Prime Minister
Kingdom of Bahrain
