Minister for Foreign Affairs, Mr George Yeo, will attend the ASEAN Foreign Ministers' Retreat to be held in Bali, Indonesia, from 19 to 20 April 2006.
At the Retreat, the Foreign Ministers will discuss ASEAN's regional role as well as ways to accelerate ASEAN's integration efforts through the Vientiane Action Programme.
The Foreign Ministers will also have an exchange of views with the ASEAN Charter Eminent Persons' Group (EPG) on the future direction of ASEAN.
In addition, Malaysian Foreign Minister Syed Hamid bin Syed Jaafar Albar is expected to brief the Foreign Ministers on his recent visit to Myanmar.
The President of the Republic of Indonesia H.E. Dr. Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono will also host a luncheon for the Foreign Ministers and the EPG.
After Bali, Minister George Yeo will visit Boao, Hainan Province, China from 21 to 23 April 2006 to participate in the Boao Forum for Asia Annual Conference 2006.
Minister Yeo will be speaking at the Special Plenary Session on 22 April under the topic of "New Opportunity of Asia, Driving Growth to the Next Level". He will also be having bilateral meetings.
