MFA Press Statement: Call on Minister for Foreign Affairs, George Yeo by Minister of Foreign Affairs of Egypt, HE Ahmed Aboul Gheit

Egyptian Foreign Minister Ahmed Aboul Gheit is in Singapore at the invitation of Minister for Foreign Affairs, Mr George Yeo. The two Foreign Ministers had wide-ranging discussions on bilateral relations and international issues. The two sides agreed that bilateral relations are smooth and friendly, and agreed that there is much potential for closer economic and political cooperation. They also agreed to work closely on moving the Asia-Middle East Dialogue (AMED) forward. Egypt will be hosting AMED II in 2007. Foreign Minister Ahmed also called on President, PM and SM.
