Minister for Foreign Affairs George Yeo met his Omani counterpart, Minister of State Responsible for Foreign Affairs, Mr Yousuf Bin Alawi Abdullah, in Muscat. They had a fruitful exchange of views on a wide range of regional and international issues and reaffirmed the long-standing warm relations between Singapore and Oman. Minister Yousuf also hosted a dinner in honour of Minister Yeo.
Minister Yeo also called on HH Sayyid Fahd Bin Mahmoud Al-Said, Deputy Prime Minister, and agreed that both sides should continue to expand bilateral cooperation.
In his separate meetings with Minister of Commerce, Mr Maqbool Bin Ali Sultan, and Minister of National Economy and Finance, Mr Ahmed Bin Adulnabi Macki, both sides supported early negotiations on a Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC)-Singapore Free Trade Agreement (FTA).
