MFA Spokesman's Comments on the Bomb Attacks in Sadr City, Baghdad on 23 November 2006

In response to media queries, the MFA Spokesman said:

"Singapore strongly condemns the bomb attacks in Sadr City, Baghdad that killed at least 140 people yesterday. We extend our deepest sympathies to the families of the victims.

Singapore remains deeply concerned about the escalating tensions and continuing sectarian violence in Iraq. We urge all parties to exercise restraint. We also call on Iraq's national unity government to restore peace and stability in the country."
