MFA Spokesman's Comments on the call by Libyan Secretary of Asian Affairs Mohamed Omar Al Barani on Second Minister Raymond Lim on 29 November 2006

In response to media queries on the call by Libyan Secretary of Asian Affairs Mohamed Omar Al Barani on Second Minister Raymond Lim on 29 November 2006, the MFA Spokesman said:

"The Libyan Secretary of Asian Affairs reiterated Libya's interest in learning from Singapore's experience in relevant areas such as infrastructure development, tourism promotion and water technology. Minister Lim said that Singapore was happy to share our experience with Libya. Both leaders agreed that there should be more exchanges of visits to explore areas of cooperation. As a start, Minister Lim informed the Secretary that MFA officials will be attending the Project Libya Trade Fair to be hosted in Tripoli from 4-7 December. Minister Lim also thanked the Secretary for conveying a letter of invitation from the Libyan Secretary for Foreign Liaison and International Cooperation Abdul Al Rahman Muhammad Shalgam to Foreign Minister George Yeo to visit Libya at a mutually convenient date next year."
