MFA Spokesman's Comments on the decision by the Myanmar Government to ask the ICRC to close its field offices in Myanmar

In response to media queries on the decision by the Myanmar Government to ask the ICRC to close its field offices in Myanmar, the MFA Spokesman said:

"We regret the reported decision by the Myanmar Government to ask the ICRC to close its five field offices in Myanmar. This does not augur well for Myanmar and its relations with the international community. We urge the Myanmar Government to sincerely re-engage the ICRC and to find an amicable solution so that the ICRC can resume its operations in Myanmar."
