Foreign Minister George Yeo and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of the Republic of Korea Song Min-Soon met in Cebu on 12 January 2007 on the sidelines of preparatory meetings held in the run-up to the Asean Summit. Minister Yeo welcomed the ROK's growing presence in the region. Both Ministers noted that bilateral relations were strong. They looked forward to the conclusion of the Services and Investment Chapter of the ASEAN-Korea Free Trade Agreement (AKFTA). They exchanged views on regional and international issues, including the situation on the Korean Peninsular and the Six-Party Talks. They also agreed to support the rebuilding of the historic Nalanda University project.
