The Government has appointed Mr Soo Kok Leng as Singapore's next Ambassador to the Republic of Austria, Mr Tan Soo Khoon as Singapore's next Ambassador to the Czech Republic and Ms Jennie Chua as Singapore's next Ambassador to the Slovak Republic. They will be resident in Singapore.
Mr Soo Kok Leng is currently the Chairman of JTC Corporation, Mount Faber Leisure Group Singapore Pte Ltd and Singapore Technologies Electronics Limited. He is also on the board of MediaCorp Singapore Pte Ltd, Tiger Airways Pte Ltd, Wildlife Reserves Singapore Pte Ltd, Cradance Services Pte Ltd and Sentosa Development Corporation. He is a Governor of the Singapore-China Foundation and a member of the Singapore-Liaoning Economic & Trade Council. He is also Corporate Advisor to both Temasek Holdings Pte Ltd and Singapore Technologies Engineering Ltd, and a member of the Dean's Advisory Board, and Adjunct Professor, Faculty of Engineering, National University of Singapore.
Mr Tan Soo Khoon is currently a businessman. Mr Tan started his political career as a Member of Parliament in 1976. He retired from politics in 2006, after serving seven terms. From 1985 to 1989, Mr Tan was the Deputy Speaker of Parliament. He was elected as the Speaker of Parliament in 1989 and served for three terms till 2002. Mr Tan has also previously served as the President of the Asean Inter-Parliamentary Organization.
Ms Jennie Chua is currently the Chief Strategic Relations Officer of CapitaLand Limited. She was President & Chief Executive Officer of Raffles Holdings Limited till January 2007. Ms Chua chairs the Singapore Film Commission, Tourism Industry Skills & Training Council, Community Chest Singapore, Sentosa Cove, The Arts House and Raffles Hotel. She is on the Boards of Singapore Workforce Development Agency, National Healthcare Group, Singapore International Chamber of Commerce, Nanyang Technological University, The Ascott Group Limited and Sentosa Leisure Holdings. She is the Honorary President of Philippine Bayanihan Society Singapore and Member of the World Travel & Tourism Council.
Ms Chua is also on the Board of Trustees, Cornell University New York. She is a Justice of Peace and a member of the Temasek Advisory Panel as well as Singapore Advisory Council of Tisch School of the Arts.
