MFA Press Statement: Visit By Deputy Prime Minister, Coordinating Minister for National Security and Minister for Law Prof S Jayakumar to the United States, 20 – 23 March 2007

Deputy Prime Minister Prof S Jayakumar met US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice on 22 March 2007. They exchanged views on bilateral relations, ASEAN-US relations as well as regional developments.

DPM Jayakumar is in the US to attend a series of events organised by the Department of State to commemorate the 30th anniversary of ASEAN-US dialogue relations.

DPM also met US Attorney General Alberto Gonzales, Director of National Intelligence Admiral Michael McConnell, as well as Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation Robert Mueller to discuss ongoing cooperation in counter-terrorism.
