Minister for Foreign Affairs George Yeo is currently on an official visit to Yemen at the invitation of his counterpart, Dr Abu Bakr Al-Qirbi.
In Sana'a, Minister Yeo met Dr Al-Qirbi, Minister of Local Administration Abdul Qader Ali Hilal, Minister of Immigrant Affairs Saleh Hasan Samee and Minister of Culture Mohamed Abu Bakr Al-Maflahe.
The discussions at these meetings focused on exploring ways to revive the deep historical links between Singapore and Yemen through bilateral cooperation, particularly in the area of cultural exchanges.
Minister Yeo also witnessed the signing of two Memoranda of Intent between the Arab Association of Singapore and the Ministry of Culture, and the Ministry of Immigrant Affairs. These Memoranda aim to enhance cooperation in promoting Arab culture, history and language in Singapore.
Minister Yeo is also visiting Hadramaut where he will meet the Deputy Governor and Singapore students studying in Tarim.
