In view of the widespread damage and heavy casualties caused by severe floods in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) in August 2007, the Government of the Republic of Singapore will extend humanitarian assistance of US$50,000 to the flood victims. The Singapore Red Cross Society will also make a separate contribution of US$19,000 to this humanitarian effort. The contributions will be sent to the DPRK by the Singapore Red Cross Society through the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies.
