The Brazilian Minister for External Relations, HE Celso Amorim, is in Singapore for an Official Visit, and called on Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong at the Istana on 29 February 2009.
During the meeting, both leaders noted that Singapore-Brazil relations had strengthened over the years and there was considerable potential for further growth. They exchanged views on how both countries could add more substance to the economic relationship by sharing experiences and exploring new areas of cooperation. They also discussed regional issues, including the prospect of fostering closer links between ASEAN and MERCOSUR.
