| Senior Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Dr Balaji Sadasivan, will be visiting Jakarta to participate in the New Asia Africa Strategic Partnership (NAASP) Capacity Building Conference on Palestine co-chaired by Indonesia and South Africa from 14 to 15 July 2008. He will be accompanied by officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Singapore Embassy in Jakarta. |

Building on previous efforts to mobilise resources to assist the Palestinians, the NAASP Conference will focus on technical and capacity-building assistance. Singapore will pledge to provide technical assistance in targeted areas such as human resource management, information and communication technology as well as public governance and administration. Singapore's participation in the NAASP Conference represents our continued commitment to support international efforts to achieve a just and comprehensive peace in the Middle East with the goal of two states, Israel and Palestine, living side by side in peace and security. . . . . .
