Senior Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Zainul Abidin Rasheed will visit Meulaboh in the Indonesian province of Aceh from 19 - 20 July 2008 as Guest-of-Honour for the opening ceremony of the Babussalam School and Samatiga Orphanage. The Babussalam School and Samatiga Orphanage were built by Mercy Relief and its partners as part of Singapore's contributions to the reconstruction of Aceh after the December 2004 tsunami. Singapore had contributed to the rebuilding of the Meulaboh pier and the refurbishment of the Cut Nyak Dhien Hospital in Meulaboh. The Singapore International Foundation and its Indonesian partner Yayasan Fajar Hidayah had also built the Fajar Hidayah Integrated Boarding School in Banda Aceh. In Meulaboh, SMS Zainul will meet with the Regent of West Aceh, Ramli MS, and the Vice Regent of West Aceh, Fuadri. SMS Zainul will be accompanied by a group of Aljunied GRC (Eunos) grassroots leaders and Mercy Relief volunteers.
