The Minister of Investment of Egypt, Dr Mahmoud Mohieldin, called on Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong at the Istana this afternoon. Senior Minister Goh also hosted lunch for Dr Mohieldin. During their meeting, Senior Minister Goh and Dr Mohieldin discussed a broad range of issues, including developments in Asia and the Middle East, as well as bilateral economic cooperation. Both leaders encouraged the private sectors in the two countries to step up collaboration and identify new economic opportunities.
Dr Mohieldin is visiting Singapore to promote private sector collaboration between Singapore and Egypt. He delivered a keynote address at a seminar on the "Investment Climate and Business Opportunities in Egypt" organised by the Singapore Business Federation this morning. Dr Mohieldin will also receive briefings by the Monetary Authority of Singapore, Economic Development Board, the Singapore Exchange, Singapore Mercantile Exchange and visit the Airport Logistics Park of Singapore. Dr Mohieldin, who is accompanied by senior officials from key economic agencies and a business delegation, will also meet private sector representatives in Singapore.
