Following the bombings in India's northeastern state of Assam on 30 October 2008, Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong has written a condolence letter to his Indian counterpart, Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh.
The text of the letter is as follows:

Dear Prime Minister,
I was shocked to learn of the tragic loss of innocent
lives caused by the bomb blasts in Assam on 30 October 2008.
I share your view that the people of India will unite against these
attempts to destroy the Indian social fabric. On behalf of the
Government of Singapore, I convey our deepest sympathies to
the Government and people of India and especially the families
of the victims.
