MFA Press Statement on North Korea's Nuclear Test on 25 May 2009

Singapore is deeply concerned and disappointed by the Democratic People's Republic of Korea's (DPRK) announcement that it had conducted yet another nuclear test today. This is a rash and dangerously provocative act that could have grave consequences which may destabilise the entire region.

The DPRK should quickly return to the Six-Party Talks. Peaceful dialogue is the only way to secure the DPRK's security and economic interests. Singapore intends to make its views known to the DPRK through its Ambassador in Singapore.
