In response to media queries on President Nathan's meeting with Mr Kim Yong Nam, President of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK, the MFA spokesman said:
"President Nathan discussed the state of bilateral relations with Mr Kim. President also exchanged views with Mr Kim on regional and global developments, including the situation in the Korean Peninsula.
President stressed that developments in the Korean Peninsula could affect the peace, stability and growth of the entire region. President expressed the hope that all parties involved would exercise restraint, respect each other's sovereignty and reduce tensions through dialogue and that the Six Party Talks could be restarted.
President told Mr Kim that Singapore hoped to see a stable Korean Peninsula, so that the DPRK could also focus on its economic development."
