Vietnam Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai will make an official visit to Singapore from 29 July to 1 August 2009 at the invitation of Minister for Foreign Affairs George Yeo. Minister Yeo had issued the invitation also in his capacity as the Patron of the Asia Competitiveness Institute (ACI) at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, for DPM Hai to attend the meeting of the ACI's International Advisory Panel. DPM Hai will be accompanied by senior officials from the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Planning & Investment and Industry & Trade, as well as provincial leaders from the Binh Duong, Bac Ninh and Hai Phong provinces.
DPM Hai will pay courtesy calls on President S R Nathan and Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew. DPM Hai will also be hosted to lunch by DPM and Minister for Defence Teo Chee Hean, where he will also meet Minister for Trade & Industry Lim Hng Kiang. Minister George Yeo will also call on DPM Hai and host him to lunch. During the visit, the delegation will visit the Singapore Tourism Board, Fusionopolis, Marina Barrage, Jurong Port and Jurong Island. DPM Hai will also be meeting Singapore business leaders as well as receive briefings by the Economic Development Board, Agency for Science, Technology And Research and SPRING Singapore.
