His Royal Highness, Prince Andrew, Duke of York, who is on a working visit to Singapore from 29 September to 3 October 2009, called on President S R Nathan and Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong this afternoon at the Istana. HRH Prince Andrew is also the current UK Special Representative for International Trade and Investment.
During the call on President, President Nathan and HRH Prince Andrew had a good exchange of views on a number of issues such as global economic slowndown and Singapore-UK economic and trade links. They also exchanged views on developments in the region.
HRH Prince Andrew called on SM Goh later in the day, during which they discussed opportunities for the two countries to increase economic cooperation, including possible collaboration between British and Singapore companies to invest in third countries.
