The Timor-Leste Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Zacarias Albano da Costa is currently in Singapore for his first official visit from 10 to 13 October 2009.
Minister da Costa called on President S R Nathan, Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and Speaker of Parliament Abdullah Tarmugi separately today. During the meetings, Minister da Costa and the leaders reaffirmed the warm bilateral relations between Singapore and Timor-Leste. They also exchanged views on regional and international developments, in particular, the global financial crisis. In addition, Minister da Costa briefed the leaders on the domestic situation in Timor-Leste.
Minister da Costa was also hosted to lunch by Senior Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Dr Balaji Sadasivan today.
Minister George Yeo will meet with and host Minister da Costa to lunch tomorrow.
