The President of the People's Republic of China, His Excellency Hu Jintao, will make a State Visit to Singapore at the invitation of President S R Nathan from 11-13 November 2009, in conjunction with the APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting. President Hu will be accompanied by his wife, Mdm Liu Yongqing, Members of the Secretariat of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China Ling Jihua and Wang Huning, State Councilor Dai Bingguo, Minister of Foreign Affairs Yang Jiechi, Minister of National Development and Reform Commission Zhang Ping, Minister of Commerce Chen Deming, and senior officials.
President Nathan will receive a call by President Hu at the Istana and host a State Banquet in his honour. President Hu will also meet with Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, after which they will jointly witness the signing of a number of bilateral agreements. This will be followed by a lunch hosted for President Hu by Prime Minister Lee. Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong and Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew will also call on President Hu. President Hu will be the guest-of-honour at a gala dinner jointly organised by the Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce & Industry and Business China.
