MFA Press Statement: Call on Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong by Keidanren Chairman Fujio Mitarai, 2 December 2009

A delegation led by Keidanren Chairman Fujio Mitarai called on Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong at the Istana at noon on 2 December 2009. Senior Minister Goh and the visiting Keidanren delegation exchanged views on the impact of the global financial crisis on Asia, the role that Japan could play in the economic development of the region and how Singapore and Japan could strengthen cooperation in fields such as research and development.

Chairman Mitarai is leading a Keidanren delegation on a three-leg visit to Southeast Asia which includes Thailand, Singapore and Vietnam.
