MFA Press Statement: Official Visit of The Right Honourable Raila Odinga, Prime Minister of the Republic of Kenya, 17-21 January 2010

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kenya, The Right Honourable Raila Odinga, will make an official visit to Singapore from 17-21 January 2010. This will be Prime Minister Odinga's first visit to Singapore.

During the five-day visit, Prime Minister Odinga will call on President S R Nathan and Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, and meet Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong. Prime Minister Lee will host lunch in honour of Prime Minister Odinga. In addition, Prime Minister Odinga will visit the Central Provident Fund Board (CPF), Changi Airports International (CAI), Economic Development Board (EDB), Housing Development Board (HDB), Infocomm Development Authority (IDA), Jurong Town Council (JTC), PSA International, Singapore Cooperation Enterprise (SCE), SMRT, Surbana, and Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA). The transport Ministers of Kenya and Singapore will sign an Air Services Agreement on 18 January 2010. Both Prime Ministers will also witness the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the government of Kenya and the Singapore Cooperation Enterprise to collaborate on the development of public housing, Special Economic Zones, ports and mass rapid transit systems.

Prime Minister Odinga will be accompanied by Minister for Industrialisation Henry Kosgey, Minister for Transport Chirau Mwakwere, Minister for Housing Peter Shitanda, Minister for Trade Amos Kimunya, and senior officials.
