The King of the Kingdom of Lesotho, His Majesty King Letsie III, called on President S R Nathan at the Istana today. King Letsie III thanked President for Singapore's assistance in training more than 200 officials from Lesotho under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Singapore Cooperation Programme (SCP). President Nathan welcomed King Letsie III's desire to further expand bilateral cooperation in areas such as education, public sector management, tourism, and water resources management. In response to King Letsie III's plans to develop Lesotho's tourism industry, President suggested that Lesotho could tap on Singapore's experience in tourism development and marketing.
King Letsie III visited the Marina Barrage this afternoon to learn how Singapore managed its scarce water resources. President Nathan hosted a State Banquet in honour of King Letsie III in the evening. King Letsie III will visit the Singapore Management University and the Singapore Turf Club tomorrow.
